If you have any concerns over the safety of a child or young person. Please contact the safeguarding HUB using the link below.

Concerns about a child

You can find our Child Protection Policy below as well as in our 'Policies & Other Key Documents' section under the Key Information tab. The policy aims to ensure that our school has effective measures in place to safeguard your children from the potential risk of harm and that the safety and well-being of the children are of the highest priority in all aspects of our school's work.

Having the policy in place ensures that all members of our school community:

  • Are aware of their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and child protection
  • Know the procedures that should be followed if they have a cause for concern
  • Know where to go to find additional information regarding safeguarding
  • Are aware of the key indicators relating to child abuse
  • Fully support the school's commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Safeguarding is not just about protecting children from deliberate harm, it also presents schools with a wide range of issues that they need to be prepared for. Below you will find some of our key Safeguarding documents, including the DfE's annually updated 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'  which underpins our whole safeguarding strategy; and our own Child Protection Policy.

Our dedicated safeguarding officers are available to talk to as well. They are:

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead: Nicola Reay, Senior Teacher, nicola.reay@patterdale.cumbria.sch.uk, 017684 82383
